Tools: Procreate
Gallery Go is a lightweight version of Google's Photos app targeted to users with lower end devices. As I was working on the character designs for an animated launch video, the Photos team saw my work and tasked me with also creating a mascot character that could guide users along different features within the app.
My goal was to create a friendly and fun character that would be very approachable and be able to explain complex product features in a memorable and easy to understand way. I explored various body shapes, props, and personalities. Ultimately, a large character was chosen wearing a hat and backpack which could store photos.
